Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I pay for my share through CSAware?

A: You will receive an email with instructions to make an account. Once you make your account, if you scroll down you will see a button that says "pay off balance". Click there and it will direct you to enter your credit card information. Please contact us directly at if you have any trouble with this process.

Q: Is this a true free choice program?

A: Yes! We have an average of 17 produce items per week to choose from. Occasionally we'll pick an item for every member to have if we have a surplus, giving you a chance to try something new, but for the most part, you have complete control over your share items.

Q: What types of vegetables are available?

A: We grow over 50 different fruits, vegetables, and herbs throughout the season. We strive to plan our plantings so that there is a variety within vegetable categories each week (like greens, roots, fruits, etc.). When you sign up you'll complete a survey to let us know what you like, and we'll create our crop plan around member preferences.

Q: What if I don't like any of the choices?

A: Some weeks, mostly at the beginning of the season, we may have less variety to choose from. We would encourage you to try new vegetables, even if it's not something you would normally eat (that's one of the many "fun parts" of joining a CSA!). If you TRULY don't like anything offered you can choose fewer items one week, but you must understand that it's not a system of "points," that roll over from week to week, so you're forfeiting items. We encourage members to share their bounty with neighbors and family members in this case.

Q: Can I pay for my membership in installments?

A: Yes! We understand that a lump sum payment may not work for everyone, so we're flexible. You can pay in up to 3 installments. As long as we have the payment in full before the March 31st you're good to go.

Q: How do add-on's work?

A: Each week you will have a list of add-on items to choose from along with your vegetable options. All add-on's come at an additional cost. This year add-on's will include: honey, eggs, flower bouquets, homemade kombucha, cheese and bread from Firefly Farms, Basecamp coffee, meat options like chicken, pork and beef, and microgreens. You will be able to order and pay for your add-on's during your weekly ordering via our software system. You will also have the ability to order additional produce each week through the website, which will be added to your bag.

Q: Do we accept cash or check for add-on's?

A: After trying this last year, we learned that it is too complex for us to manage, and we will now be requiring all ad-on's to be paid for ahead of time through a secure online payment method. Exceptions can be made only in extreme circumstances. We thank you for your understanding. Our new CSA software system is going to make it A LOT easier for members to make add-on purchases.

Q: Do I have to order every week, even if I'm going out of town?

A: No, if you are going out of town you can choose to put your share on hold. The following week you can order double if you wish to "make up for it".

Q: Can I upgrade or downgrade my membership (change between half and standard share) once the season has begun?

A: Yes. We try to be as flexible and accommodating as possible to make sure that members are receiving an amount of food that is right for their family size.
Thanks again! Please let us know if you have any other questions
